Repair the Footpath Between Gallery Walk Roundabout and Tamborine Mountain State School.

Repair the Footpath Between Gallery Walk Roundabout and Tamborine Mountain State School.
The issue
The footpath connecting the Gallery Walk roundabout to Curtis Road and Tamborine Mountain State School has fallen into an unacceptable state of disrepair and is no longer safe for pedestrians.
Children, parents, residents, tourists and our elderly community members rely on this pathway. However, years of inadequate maintenance have left sections of the footpath cracked, uneven, overgrown, and hazardous to use to the point where pedestrians have to walk out onto the road in sections to avoid walking through muddy waters.
The deteriorating condition of the pathway creates significant risks like trip and fall hazards, difficult access for prams and those with limited mobility, increased danger for children walking to and from school and mostly reduced safety during wet weather and low-light conditions.
Despite the importance of this walkway, maintenance has not kept pace with community needs.
Some local residents have documented the condition of the footpath through photo and video that clearly demonstrate the extent of the problem.
This is not simply about appearance, it is about community safety, accessibility, and ensuring that children, residents and tourists are safe.
We urge the council to prioritise and not patronise these repairs before more injuries occur.
This image was generated (not our footpath or school).
Thank you.
