Repair the Deteriorating Tennis Courts at Riverside Park

Repair the Deteriorating Tennis Courts at Riverside Park
The Issue
My daughter is part of a local tennis team in Springfield, MN. She and her teammates, along with other members of our community, are passionate about the sport and would love to use the tennis courts at Riverside Park. Unfortunately, these courts are currently in such a poor state that they are practically unusable.
Riverside Park is an important hub for our community - a place where we gather to play sports, relax, and connect with each other. The dilapidated condition of the tennis courts not only affects those who enjoy playing tennis but also diminishes the overall appeal and functionality of our beloved park.
According to data from Tennis Industry Association (TIA), regular participation in tennis can increase cardiovascular fitness and bone health while reducing stress levels. It's clear that having access to functional public sports facilities like these courts can greatly benefit our community's physical health and well-being.
We believe it's time for change. We urge Springfield City Council to prioritize repairs on these tennis courts so that they may once again serve as a valuable resource for our community members who wish to engage in this beneficial sport.
Please join us by signing this petition today – let’s bring back safe and enjoyable play spaces for everyone in Springfield!
