Repair Race Hall's Third Elevator (Drexel University)

Repair Race Hall's Third Elevator (Drexel University)
The Issue
Dear Readers,
We trust this message finds you in good health. We seek to shed light on a pressing matter concerning Drexel University's Race Street Residences. Presently, only two out of the three elevators are operational, causing substantial disruptions to the daily lives of residents and visitors alike.
This deficiency results in inconvenience and also raises safety concerns, particularly during peak hours. We implore your assistance by signing our petition, which aims to expedite the repair of the non-functional elevator. Your signature holds the power to emphasize the collective urgency of this issue and appeal to the relevant authorities for swift action.
As concerned residents, we believe every signature is a voice calling for a better living experience. The current state of the elevators significantly impacts the 490 students residing in 130 two-bedroom suites across a 130,000-square-foot area spanning 11 floors. Ideally, residential buildings of this scale should have one elevator per 50 rooms. According to this standard, our residence requires a total of 3 elevators.
In addition to the inconvenience faced by residents, the non-functional elevator hinders accessibility for individuals with mobility challenges, creating an environment that does not meet the standards of inclusivity and accommodation we value as a community.
By signing the petition and sharing it within the community, your support is crucial in rectifying this situation. Together, we can make a difference and enhance the overall living experience for everyone at Race Street Residences.
We kindly request that you spread the word among your fellow residents, friends, and colleagues. Let us unite in advocating for a safer, more accessible, and pleasant living environment.
Best regards
