In October 2023, I returned home to a terrifying sight - an unfamiliar man had managed to enter the residence areas and was sitting outside my apartment door. Although he turned out to be a homeless individual seeking shelter, the incident left me shaken and fearful. Since then, more incidents of a similar nature have occurred within our complex, some even more sinister than mine. Many tenants, especially women living in Apo Barking Wharf apartments are feeling unsafe.

Over the past year alone, there have been five reported incidents of unwelcome visitors gaining access due to broken lobby doors. Despite these alarming occurrences and repeated pleas from tenants for repairs since February 2023, building management has done nothing to address this serious security issue.

We all deserve to feel safe in our homes. The current situation is unacceptable and poses a significant risk not only to personal safety but also mental well-being of residents who constantly live in fear of intruders.

Our demand is simple yet crucial - we call on the building management team at Apo Barking Wharf apartments to immediately repair all broken lobby doors leading into our residences. This will ensure that no unwelcome visitor can gain access into our homes uninvitedly again.
