We, the undersigned residents, call upon the London Borough of Hounslow to urgently address the poor and deteriorating condition of the road surface on The Crossways in Heston Central.

The Crossways is an important and well-used through route for local residents and other road users. However, the road is now affected by numerous potholes, damaged surfaces and uneven sections, causing significant concern within the community.

The current condition of the road:

· Creates a risk of damage to cars and other vehicles;

· Presents a particular danger to cyclists and motorcyclists, who may be forced to swerve to avoid potholes;

· Makes journeys uncomfortable and potentially unsafe for bus passengers and other road users;

· Creates difficulties for pedestrians, particularly where damaged road surfaces and standing water affect crossing points; and

· Gives the area a neglected appearance despite The Crossways being a busy and important local route.

Residents should not have to continually navigate around potholes and damaged sections of road, particularly on such a heavily used route.

We therefore petition the Council to carry out an urgent inspection of the full length of The Crossways, undertake repairs to existing potholes and damaged sections as soon as possible, and consider a comprehensive resurfacing of the road where repeated patch repairs are no longer sufficient.

We ask the Council to treat The Crossways as a priority for highway maintenance and provide residents with a clear timetable for the necessary works.
