Stop pushing Exxon and Koch-sponsored ALEC bills!

Stop pushing Exxon and Koch-sponsored ALEC bills!
The Issue
Rep. Kim Thatcher (R-Keizer, Oregon House District 25) is using model legislation provided by ALEC (American Legislative Exchange Council) to pressure Gov. John Kitzhaber out of Oregon's participation in the Western Climate Initiative.
ALEC is a powerful legislation-drafting group funded by some of the biggest corporations in the nation, including ExxonMobil, Koch Industries, Philip Morris, and Wal-Mart. Their goal is to draft "model" bills that can be quickly introduced by state legislators to benefit mega-corporate interests. In this case, corporations like ExxonMobil and Koch Industries feel threatened by Oregon's desire to grow its burgeoning clean-tech industry and reduce pollution through the participation in the Western Climate Initiative.
Oregon has led the nation in some of the most progressive legislation. Let's not have that corrupted by outside interests who are using representatives like Kim Thatcher to push their agenda.
Kim is supposed to represent the people of House District 25, not giant oil-companies like ExxonMobil and Koch Industries. Her legislation is directly aimed at benefiting these corporate giants at the expense of the well-being of everyday Oregonians. Tell her to stop pushing transnational corporate interests and start thinking about the people of her own state!
