The sauna and steam room at Bellahouston Leisure Centre have remained closed, leaving many users without facilities they relied on for health, wellbeing and recovery.

Bellahouston Leisure Centre serves residents from across Glasgow. For many people, it provides an affordable alternative to private health clubs. The sauna and steam room supported muscle recovery, circulation, stress relief, rehabilitation and overall physical and mental wellbeing.

We are calling on Glasgow City Council and Glasgow Life to:

• Reopen the sauna and steam room at Bellahouston Leisure Centre.
• Publish a transparent, costed assessment of what is required to reopen these facilities.
• Provide residents with a clear timeline and regular updates.

Bellahouston Leisure Centre is an important community asset. Restoring these facilities would improve the experience for members, encourage greater use of the centre and demonstrate continued investment in the health and wellbeing of local residents.
