Reopen the case of Raven Zephier
The Issue
My name is Hunter, and I am writing this petition with a heavy heart and a firm resolve to seek justice for my cousin, Raven Zephier. Raven was tragically murdered, and like too many cases involving Native American women, her case was swept under the rug without the justice she and her family so desperately deserve. Raven's life was cut short, and we owe it to her to thoroughly investigate what happened and ensure that those responsible are held accountable.
The epidemic of Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women and Relatives (#MMIWR) is a grave issue that has been ignored for far too long. Native American women are disproportionately affected by violence, and many cases remain unresolved, leaving families without closure. According to the National Crime Information Center, in 2016 alone, there were 5,712 reports of missing American Indian and Alaska Native women and girls, yet only 116 cases were logged with the Department of Justice.
Raven Zephier's case is a painful reminder of this crisis. We cannot let another life be lost without consequences, without investigation, without justice. Her loved ones deserve answers. The community deserves accountability. Every day that passes without action is another day that her family and friends must endure this pain and uncertainty.
I urge the local law enforcement agencies, the federal government, and all relevant authorities to reopen the investigation into Raven Zephier's death. Let us work together to uncover the truth and bring those responsible to justice. Every name matters, every life matters, and today we fight for Raven.
Please, stand with me in demanding justice for Raven Zephier and for all Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women and Relatives. Sign this petition, and let's work towards a world where these stories are no longer ignored.
Sign the petition today and bring justice to Raven's memory, her family, and every endangered Native American woman.
