Justice For Alonzo Brooks

Justice For Alonzo Brooks

The Issue

Alonzo Brooks was only 23 when his body was found. He attended a party in a remote area in Kansas in 2004 and was one of only 3 black people attending the party. Witnesses say there were racial slurs, threats, and fights targeted.

Alonzo never came home that night and was reported missing for over a month.  The police searched for him ground and air but were unsuccessful. With so much power involved in trying to find Brooks, you would think they would find him within days or hours, unfortunately, that wasn't the case. After a month his family gathered their own search party and were eventually allowed to search some private property.

They found his body within an hour and 30 minutes of searching.  Brooks was from black and Mexican descent and the area where he went missing was predominantly white. The FBI were even suspecting it was a possible hate crime. The original search party (multi-agency) said they had supposedly gone through the exact area where Brooks's body was discovered before the family had and found nothing. The case had eventually gone cold but was recently reopened.

The FBI announced they would be giving a $100,000 reward for information leading to the arrest of anyone responsible for Alonzo Brooks's death.  Sign this petition to gain the attention of more people to help with ANY information regarding the death of Alonzo Brooks and give his family closure.
