Bunk is a Berlin inspired rooftop bar and restaurant in Mandaluyong City. It was a huge success with the surrounding community since it opened, attracting an estimated 600 guests every week. These are the vibrant middle class yuppies who want to sit down and relax with their friends after a hard day of work, to enjoy affordable drinks, food, and artwork put together by local freelance artists. The place features a one-of-a-kind view of Antipolo on one side and Makati City on the other.

However, on March 15, 2017 Bunk was closed due to one complainant who claimed that we were still hosting live band performances.

We haven't held any such events since 2015, when we were requested by the City Hall to stop all stage performances. The evidence used by the complainant were posters from 2015. Since then we were able to renew our business license twice as we have been following procedure, which is is why our closure was a big surprise to us.

We try to help our community through the provision of stable jobs. Not many people know this but many of the staff we hire are in desperate need to support their families. We do not judge applicants by looking at their qualifications. Everyone with a good heart deserves a chance. One example would be our employee who lost her house to a fire in Mandaluyong and consequently is forced to sleep in a basketball gym with her son. The majority actually live in compromised housing. They are all great people and were so grateful to work with us.

The continued operation of Bunk would help my family, whose main goal is to donate to charities and help the less fortunate. It would help the families of our staff greatly in supporting their daily lives. It would help our community by introducing a new culture to our city and the creation of tourism.

We have now collected abundant evidence to go against the false claims which were used against us. With the help of our supporters we hope that we will be able to reopen once again and relive the good times we had on that rooftop in Mandaluyong.
