Reopen Bright Start Early Learning Center

Reopen Bright Start Early Learning Center
The Issue
On Wednesday, March 23rd around 5:00 pm the licensor that is assigned to our center, Tammy Guthland, and her Supervisor arrived at our facility.
During this visit they informed us of their decision to suspend our license, effective immediately. We, like the majority of businesses and industries across the country, have been facing staffing challenges in the wake of the pandemic. We were informed that their decision was based on having inadequate “qualified” staffing. Although we have been in communication with licensing regarding this issue, and working diligently to find qualified staffing, we were not given advanced warning of the decision to suspend our license nor given a timeline in which to have the staffing meet their requirements or face suspension.
I was told by the licensor and her supervisor that all parents would be contacted the evening of March 24th by them, and they took every child's emergency form for this purpose. However, given the phone calls and messages I have received on the morning of March 25th, it seems as though they failed to follow through with their commitment to contact everyone and notify them of their decision.
I understand the bind that their decision to suspend our license puts all of our families in, and that is only exasperated by them failing to notify the families in a timely manner as they stated they would. I am so sorry for the inconvenience that this has caused all of you.
We adamantly disagree with their decision to suspend our license, and intend on rapidly filing an appeal to overturn the suspension. We have the staff to run our center and, as you all know, all children have been well cared for and properly supervised.
