Renter's Tax Credit Eligibility to RV and Mobile Home Pad Renters in British Columbia

Renter's Tax Credit Eligibility to RV and Mobile Home Pad Renters in British Columbia
The Issue
To the Honourable the Legislative Assembly of the Province of British Columbia, in Legislature Assembled:
The Petition of the undersigned, Kirsten McInnes, of View Royal, British Columbia, states that:
The current provincial renter's tax credit disqualifies people that live in an rv or mobile home that pay monthly pad fees for yearly occupancy. Mostly consists of seniors, retirees and people with disabilities and limited income. They do not receive monthly subsidized housing benefits despite low income and are unable to get a job to increase their income. Without living in an rv or mobile home there would be tens of thousand without homes or greater strain on subsidized house which would then qualify for the renter's tax credit. Senior living on CPP, OAS and GIS can not afford to rent apartments at the current rate. This money couple pay for basic food for one month, medical supplies, or helping to keep the lights and heat on. We need the provincal government to treat all renter's equally.
The petitioners respectfully request that the Honourable House
to have the renter's tax credit available to all renters including rv and mobile home pad renters within the income thresholds in British Columbia.
