Rent rates in Tucson AZ have skyrocketed and put many people in shelter threatening positions. California investors are buying up property like hot cakes and raising the rent 50-70%. Retired people on fixed incomes are being evicted because of their inability to afford the new monthly rent rate. Single parents are struggling to provide for their children and pay their rent. We need rent control in Tucson, and we need it FAST. We need the rent rate to go back down to what it was 2 years ago, and we need it to stay there. The inflation of the rental market does not match the minimum wage. People should be able to afford to have SHELTER, FOOD AND UTILITIES while making minimum wage.
