Renovate Clifton Skatezone!

Renovate Clifton Skatezone!
The Issue
Although tucked away next to Weaselbrook Park, the skatepark in Clifton New Jersey, otherwise known as Clifton Skatezone, has had an impact on a sizeable chunk of people within the action sports community in Clifton and the greater Passaic County area. The park has been around for a while, and has had it's up's and down's throughout the years. From being closed, renovated, and reopened all throughout the last 10 years, the park has been through a lot. However, the community around it has shown great resolve and determination in fighting to keep the space open for all to enjoy.
In the past few years however, the park has seen quite a bit of natural wear and tear due to weather and just general use. We would like to ask the city of Clifton if they would be generous enough to make some renovations to the park, to make sure the park is safe and enjoyable for anyone who wishes to use it. Our two main renovation proposals include fixing up the ramps, which have damages such as holes, screws sticking out/loose, and sides of the ramps coming undone, as well as repaving the ground, which has become very coarse and rough throughout the years, making skateboarding more difficult and painful than it already is. We have also asked the city for the potential of installing a light(s) in the park as in the more extreme months nighttime is often the only available time for most people to use the park, however we understand that this is a much bigger project/process.
Our ideal scenario for the repaving of the ground would be something similar to the ground at the Jersey City Rink Skatepark, a hard trowel finished concrete used at many skateparks throughout the United States. The next best option would be a standard concrete seen at parks like East Orange Skatepark.
If any of these above renovations sound good to you, please consider signing the petition and voicing what Skatezone has meant to you, and show your support for these renovations to allow all the action sports communities who utilize this park to continue thriving for years to come!
