Renovate and Reopen the Third Floor of Wauwatosa East High School

Renovate and Reopen the Third Floor of Wauwatosa East High School
The Issue
As students of Wauwatosa East High School, we are faced with a challenge that affects our daily learning environment - the limited size of our school. Our classrooms are crowded, and the lack of space is hindering our educational experience. The third floor of our school has remained closed for years now, serving as a constant reminder of missed opportunities for expansion.
Despite having sufficient funding, the school administration continues to cram more students into an already congested area instead of investing in renovations to make useable space available. This not only restricts us physically but also impacts our ability to focus and learn effectively.
According to data from the National Education Association, overcrowded schools can lead to decreased student achievement and higher levels of stress among both students and teachers (NEA). Furthermore, research by Harvard University suggests that smaller class sizes can significantly improve student academic achievements (Harvard).
Our plea is simple - renovate and reopen the third floor at Wauwatosa East High School. This will provide much-needed additional space for classrooms or other educational facilities. We believe this step will greatly enhance our learning environment while also addressing overcrowding issues.
Let's not let past mistakes serve as an excuse for inaction any longer. It's time we demand better conditions for ourselves as learners in this institution. Please sign this petition if you agree that it's time for change at Wauwatosa East High School.
