Bring Back East New York for a Season 2

Bring Back East New York for a Season 2
The Issue
Whereas; as long as even in the age of police mistrust we are still going to have cop shows be a thing we deserve to keep around the main one of them that's actually setting its eyes towards reform
Whereas; it spotlights not only many minorities of various sorts but a usually overlooked part of New York City that's so vibrantly portrayed it's almost a character in and of itself
Whereas; it features older female characters being given the kind of romantic subplot you'd expect of one half their age (and it still being handled well) defying the expectations of what usually constitutes ages one's beautiful at (and given the reception of e.g. Michelle Yeoh in Everything Everywhere All At Once it's clear beauty-knowing-no-age is a social wave to capitalize on in the entertainment industry) and other older characters in steady happy relationships proving that those don't make stories dead-ends while still having young characters in relationships to make this not just an "old people show".
Whereas; there's just so many set-up stories in this first-season-so-far alone and so much potential in them that I'd hate to see it cut short by only giving the show one season especially since it seems what online fandom there is of it is kinda fanfic-writing-shy.
Whereas; it tackles a lot more social issues than just various forms of minority rights and reform in policing, from gentrification to substance abuse to media bias, that most mainstream network dramas wouldn't really dare to touch so these messages deserve to get out to the masses.
Whereas; even despite that relentless progressiveness it still can maintain that "classic show" vibe through its optimism and sharing clear "TV DNA" with shows like Hill Street Blues therefore meaning it can appeal to all of the family from the old-fashioned parents and grandparents to the hip young people.
Therefore; CBS should renew East New York for a second season
