Grant Animal Cruelty Investigators

Grant Animal Cruelty Investigators

The Issue

Sign a petition: Join efforts to fight against Animal Cruelty.

Concerned citizens of the Rio Grande Valley have collaborated to battle the overpopulation of homeless animals in the community.  These animals suffer everyday whether it's from euthanasia, neglect, or victims of animal cruelty and only if we all take a stand, united we can make a difference.

United 4 Paws has worked on a local petition to accumulate signatures of concerned citizens and try to incorporate animal cruelty investigators to work alongside the local law enforcement.  These cases provided below, are instances that have been reported but animal cruelty continues to lack justice:

October 2013, two dogs were brutally attacked by a neighbor with a machete in Edinburg, TX.

July 2014, Cirilo Castillo, 43 of Edinburg, Texas was back in court and charged with criminal trespass and animal cruelty for having sex with a horse for the second time and all caught on surveillance camera.

You can help by signing the petition to Fight Cruelty and possibly help the animals in the community live happier lives.  Animals deserve protection against abusers.

Dear District Attorney of Hidalgo County, Rene Guerra,

Animal abuse has been classified into its own category, and if Hidalgo County granted and incorporated animal cruelty investigators, it would allow better access to criminal history and aiding in the prosecution of animal abusers.

The District Attorney's office has been dealing with a series of heinous animal abuse crimes for many years but animals need the protection they deserve.  The community is taking action now to protect the future of these animals.  Please consider allowing animal cruelty investigators to work alongside the local law enforcement and have more severe punishment for animal abuse.

Sincerely,
