The Issue

As someone deeply invested in the truth and accurate representation, I have been compelled to call out an inconsistency that taints our beloved national sport - football. Both the Jets and Giants hold the 'New York' title in their names, yet they neither practice nor play in New York. In fact, the teams have called New Jersey their home for several years now. The MetLife Stadium, their shared home ground, is headquartered in East Rutherford, New Jersey.

The only NFL team that actually plays within New York State boundaries is the Buffalo Bills. This misrepresentation can lead to confusion and a misunderstanding of the actual geographical situation.

Change is never easy, but it's necessary when it comes to ensuring accurate representation. So let's rectify this situation. Let's call on the NFL to change the Jets and Giants into New Jersey teams officially. It's about embracing where they truly belong, and showing solidarity with the fans of New Jersey, who've been the hosts to these teams for so long. By doing this, we will honor New Jersey's role in these teams' histories, and will bring the truth to light about which state hosts, supports, and contributes most to these teams.

Help bring this change. Sign this petition urging the NFL to rename the New York Jets and Giants to become the New Jersey Jets and Giants.
