In light of the recent and historical events, we believe its time to make a change.

We propose changing the name from Chicago Blackhawks to Chicago Cougars. The cougar is a symbol of strength, resilience, and fierceness - characteristics that perfectly represent the city and its people, and no one specific group of people at all.

This also would honour our history with the Chicago Cougars playing in the WHA from 1972-1975.

There is totally no other reason why we would want to change the name other than it is time to pounce and ride the wave of popularity of cougars within our team.

We're not asking for a complete overhaul; just one word - from Blackhawks to Cougars.
