Connaught Place is to Delhi, what Marine Drive is to Mumbai. You don't change names of such iconic landmarks to appease political families. Connaught Place is one of the first images that comes to mind, when one thinks of Delhi. Connaught Place has its own history and heritage value, and in a way it defines Delhi. All this gets lost when it is called 'Rajiv Chowk'. People still call the place Connaught Place or CP, and have no association with the words 'Rajiv Chowk', which is only mentioned on road direction signages. Nobody mentions it even on their addresses. It's high time that this is undone and Connaught Place regains it's lost name, glory and heritage.
