Rename Our Local Street in Honor of Frances George

The Issue

My beloved mother, Frances George, will celebrate her 100th birthday in January 2025. Her impact on our local community was immense, manifesting itself through her years of work as a domestic engineer, caregiver to children in the Browns Woods community and beyond, and to her beloved mother as well as elder members of her family. She also served as an inspirational figure in many people's lives during her life journey.

Frances is a Godly soul who shared stories of doing acts of kindness to families and individuals in her community, church and beyond. In honor of her 100th birthday, we believe it's time our community reflects this legacy.

Renaming a street in her honor, will serve to perpetually remind us of her tireless efforts and her unwavering commitment to our community. Frances home is on Browns Woods road, where she provided childcare to many children, is located on this very same road.

If our town honors traditions and remembers important personalities, who better than Frances George to be honored in this way? Its significance will not only be a testament to her contributions but an inspiration for future generations.

Having a street named after an individual is a distinguished honor, typically reserved for people who have made a positive and significant impact in their communities. Figures from the U.S. Board on Geographic Names confirm that over 150,000 streets in the United States are named after people as of 2020, demonstrating a tradition of honoring valuable community members in this way. We believe Frances George indisputably meets this criterion.

Join this campaign to pay tribute to Frances George, a pillar of our community. Help us honor one of our own by keeping her legacy as a reminder that she truly exemplifies God's commandment to love one another.
