The town of Stephenville has had a long and rich soccer history that dates back to the early 1980's. Throughout this time the Mayfield soccer field has been a big part of this. However, now is the time to honor a remarkable resident who has played a significant role in nurturing these values – W. Bruce Power.

W. Bruce Power is the founding father of Stephenville Minor soccer, dedicating over two decades to local sports and youth mentorship. Through his tireless effort, he has encouraged participation in sports, underscored the importance of physical activity, and inspired young athletes to pursue excellence both on and off the field. His leadership in organizing the business community, the local media as well as his advocacy for youth sports programs have positively impacted countless lives.

Renaming the Mayfield soccer field to the W. Bruce Power Soccer Field would be a fitting tribute to this outstanding individual who has given so much to our community.
