The name "West Bengal University of Technology" not only reflects our regional identity but also embodies the collective aspirations and dreams of thousands of students, alumni, and educators.

In recent years, the university underwent a name change to "Maulana Abul Kalam Azad University of Technology". While this name honors a renowned freedom fighter and leader, it disconnects the institution from its regional roots and the specific character of West Bengal's educational landscape.
