My belief in the greatness and unity of our dear country, Canada, has led me to propose a change. I would like to see Lake Superior, the largest freshwater lake in the world by surface area, renamed to Lake Canada. Technically shared by Canada and the United States, this lake covers a huge 31,700 square miles (82,100 square kilometers). More than half is within our Canadian boundary. Acknowledging this fact, I believe the lake should bear the name of our beloved country.

Canada is well-recognized for its vast and impressive landscapes, with water playing a key part. Our shores are laced with more than two million lakes. That is more than all other countries combined. This abundance is a testament to how important water, and the life-sustaining qualities it brings, is to Canada. Thus, renaming Lake Superior to Lake Canada would be internally coherent.
