Rename the Jesse Owens Memorial Complex - John Kincaide Stadium and Ellis Davis Fieldhouse in the Dallas Independent School District to the Marion Barnett Athletic Complex. Marion Barnett initiated and proposed the idea of building an athletic complex for the underserved community in southern Dallas. 

After realizing that top athletes lived in southern Dallas but top facilities were in northern Dallas, Marion Barnett petitioned Dallas ISD to build a state-of-the-art athletic complex. In 1992, Mr. Barnett began organizing parents from various schools in southern Dallas to help petition for the new facility. As a result of years of consulting with board trustees and community residents, the facility was finally approved and opened in 2005. 

Despite this, Marion Barnett’s name and contributions have been omitted and overlooked in the history of the complex. It's time for us to thank him for his work in the community and express our appreciation.
