I am writing this petition due to a personal connection to a beloved community figure, Daniel G. Rodriguez Jr., who as a tireless civil rights activist and former ATU 694 President, has touched countless lives, mine included, through his impactful contributions. 

Daniel devoted his life not only to the upliftment of civil rights, but also to Via Metropolitan Transit, helping transform it into an essential service within our community. His commitment and passion led to significant advancements for employees and users of the service, creating positive ripples across our city.

Despite his immense contributions, there are currently no known public spaces commemorating his life and work. Therefore, we propose renaming Crossroads Park and Ride to the 'Daniel G. Rodriguez Park and Ride'. This would not only honor Daniel's inspiring legacy but also ensure that his name and the ideals he stood for are visible to the community he served.
