Carrum is a proud beachside community, yet it is frequently confused with Carrum Downs, leading to ongoing misidentification for residents, visitors and local businesses.

Renaming the suburb to Carrum Beach would clearly reflect our coastal identity, distinguish us from neighbouring suburbs, and recognise what locals have long known - that we are a beachside suburb in both character and lifestyle.

This conversation has already gained wider attention, including coverage by Channel 10, showing strong community interest in seeing Carrum properly recognised.

An official renaming to Carrum Beach would strengthen our identity, improve clarity, and celebrate the unique coastal community we call home.
