Rename Camp Twin dining room to Hisham

Rename Camp Twin dining room to Hisham
The Issue
Camp Twin in Winder, GA, has been a hub for unforgettable summer experiences for countless campers. However, it's time to make some meaningful changes that better reflect our community's values and aspirations.
Firstly, we propose renaming the dining room to "Hisham," in honor of Hisham, a respected figure within our camp community. This change will provide a fresh identity to one of the most frequented spaces, fostering a sense of belonging and pride among campers and staff alike.
In addition to the renaming, we aim to introduce new tablet resources that will aid in educational and recreational activities. These tablets will ensure that campers have access to modern learning tools and digital engagement, supporting an enriching camp experience.
We also believe in expanding our facilities to include a new cabin with a capacity of 200. This will not only improve accommodation but also enhance the camp's ability to host a diverse range of campers, strengthening community bonds.
Moreover, we support the prospective introduction of ESP camp overnights, allowing for a deeper connection with nature and fostering independence and teamwork among campers. However, we believe that activities should also consider safety and inclusivity, and therefore, any changes must maintain current safety standards.
Food is a crucial element of camp life, and while we propose introducing a new Hisham Meal option, it is essential to balance tradition and variety. Therefore, we suggest maintaining diverse meal plans, including reintroducing chicken on the menu to respect varying dietary needs and preferences.
Finally, we strive for a camp environment where all are welcome, urging policies that ensure inclusivity for camper girls while reconsidering bans on camper boys, fostering a more integrated community response.
Please join us in supporting these changes to create a more inclusive and dynamic camp environment at Camp Twin. Sign this petition to make a difference in our camp's legacy and future!
