The Issue

We, the undersigned content creators, viewers, and members of the global digital community, formally declare No Confidence in Neal Mohan’s leadership as Chief Executive Officer of YouTube. We demand his immediate removal from office. Under Neal Mohan’s tenure, YouTube has systematically abandoned the independent creators who built the platform. By prioritizing unvetted, aggressive AI-driven automation over human oversight and fair due process, the current leadership has created a hostile environment where legitimate small businesses, independent animators, VTubers, and ASMR creators are being financially ruined and erased overnight without cause.

WHY THIS MATTERS

1. Reckless Over-Reliance on Broken AI Moderation—CEO Neal Mohan has aggressively expanded automated AI moderation systems while severely downsizing human support teams. This has resulted in catastrophic "ban waves" where the platform’s algorithm routinely misidentifies legitimate independent creative content—such as 2D/3D animations, video game commentary, and virtual avatars (VTubers)—as violating severe safety policies.

2. The Complete Failure of Due Process—Under Mohan's leadership, the channel appeal process has been hollowed out. Legitimate creators who have their life's work wrongfully deleted by an algorithm are met with instantaneous, automated rejection emails. YouTube has created a broken system where a creator's only path to genuine human review is to generate massive public outcry on external social media networks, leaving smaller creators entirely helpless.

3. Destructive "Anti-Slop" Policies Hurting Real People—While aiming to curb mass-produced AI spam, the policies enacted under Mohan’s direction have utterly failed to differentiate between unoriginal "AI slop" and authentic, hard-working independent creators who utilize voice effects, digital avatars, or complex editing. Instead of protecting the platform, these sweeping algorithmic changes have stripped monetization from innocent creators, destroying livelihoods without warning.

 4. Total Breach of Trust—A platform of YouTube's scale cannot function safely or ethically without human accountability. By publicly defending these flawed automated systems while ignoring the widespread, documentable collateral damage to independent digital artists, Neal Mohan has proven that he prioritizes corporate cost-cutting over the safety, stability, and mental well-being of YouTube’s creator ecosystem.

 Our Demands

The Immediate Termination of Neal Mohan as CEO of YouTube.

• The Appointment of a New Leader who commits to prioritizing human-in-the-loop moderation.

• An Immediate Overhaul of the Appeal Process, guaranteeing that every single channel termination is reviewed by a qualified human being before a final decision is upheld.

• Transparent Compensation Protocols for all authentic independent channels falsely flagged and damaged by these automated sweeps.

YouTube was built on the slogan "Broadcast Yourself." Under Neal Mohan, it has become "Let the Algorithm Silence Yourself." Sign this petition to demand a leadership change that respects the human creators who make YouTube valuable!
