As a student that goes to a Dekalb County School i have a different opinion on the yondr pouches,  I am not alone on this opinion. me and many others are against these yondr pouches. 

Student 1: Hypothetical if there was anything bad to happen how would WE be able to get in contact with our parents, It’s not like the teacher could text all 20+ students parents and tell them ALL what we are trying to let them know.

Student 2: As a student of Dekalb I do not likes these especially because if we all try to unlock our phones at  the end of the day everyone will be crowding the magnets Someone could get hurt.

These are just some of many other students in the counties opinions. Although it may have some befits to it we also have to listen to the students opinions not just the volunteers who voted on what THEY think is best. The district spent OVER 45k on just the yonder pouches when they could have use those funds to make our schools safer.

STUDENT 1: On September 4,2024 we had a school shooting here in Georgia at apalachee high school in Winder. If /or they had they had their phone in the yonder pouch how would they be able to contact there parents it let them know that they are STILL ALIVE. Yeah the staff could notify them but how fast would they be able to contact +1,000 students parents or guardians. Or if they wanted to let someone know that they are injured and wanted to be located FAST how could do so. Even if they wanted to tell a loved one their last words…
