Growing up in Montalban, Rizal, I've seen how my community tirelessly works, pays their taxes, and hopes for progress. Yet, sadly, it feels like we are tethered by the same invisible ropes—the unchecked dominance of the Ynares political dynasty. It's as if the benefits of our labor vanish into the very establishments bearing their initial "Y."

For decades, the Ynares family has remained at the helm of power here, seemingly benefiting the most from our hard-earned contributions without substantial progress for the ordinary residents of Rizal. The prevalence of the "Y" marks on buildings, facilities, and infrastructures symbolizes their pervasive influence and control over both public perception and resource distribution.

Political dynasties can stifle democracy and limit the opportunities for new leadership to emerge, ultimately slowing down regional development that we urgently need. According to studies, political dynasties can lead to inefficiency, lack of accountability, and perpetuation of inequality. We need a political landscape free from monopolistic control, encouraging transparency and equal opportunities for all qualified leaders.

We call for the implementation of policies to curb political dynasties. The initial step is to ensure transparency in local governance, promoting a democratic system where leadership is based on merit, not lineage. Encourage civic engagement, urging the community to participate actively and voice their demands for responsible governance.

Montalban and the broader Rizal province deserve a chance at true progress that benefits everyone, not just a select few.
