Remove Warehouse/Manufacturing Zoning from Anna Town Square

The Issue

As a deeply concerned resident, I have come to understand the repercussions of the draft amendment to the 2050 Comprehensive Plan proposed by the City of Anna. This amendment paves the way for manufacturing and warehouse use in close proximity to our residential neighborhood and schools in the Anna Town Square area. I fear this type of use will have a significant adverse impact on our community, our quality of life, and the value of our properties.

Such industrial entities near residential areas can typically result in increased noise and traffic, affecting the quiet ambiance that our neighborhood currently enjoys. Likewise, school-going children might face safety issues due to heavy vehicles and increased traffic. Studies have demonstrated that introducing industrial zones in residential areas can lead to decreased property values, harming those who have invested their life savings into their homes.

Furthermore, the harmful environmental impacts of such developments cannot be overlooked. Warehouses and manufacturing establishments often contribute to increased pollution, which can have a detrimental effect on the overall air quality that we and our children breathe.

I urge the City of Anna to prioritize the welfare of their citizens and rethink their approach to the proposal in the drafted amendment. I encourage the City to consider alternative locations for such zoning, far removed from residential areas and schools, to maintain the livability of our community.

Please join me in urging the City of Anna to reconsider their manufacturing and warehouse zoning proposal in the 2050 Comprehensive Plan draft amendment. Sign this petition so our voices can be heard, and our community remains a safe and pleasant place to live.
