Remove Wardens Felipe Martinez and Milton Washington from MDC Brooklyn

Remove Wardens Felipe Martinez and Milton Washington from MDC Brooklyn
The Issue
Warden Felipe Martinez JR. and Deputy Warden Milton Washington are new wardens assigned to MDC Brooklyn. Since their arrival they have made MDC Brooklyn a more dangerous environment for staff and inmates alike. Their blatant bias towards the staff and inmates has been and continues to be detrimental to the orderly running of the institution. On multiple occasions Milton Washington has degraded and disrespected staff, stating "everyone is dirty"; insinuating that he believes all of the staff is corrupt. Milton habitually humiliates and intimidates those he perceives as weak in order to further his and bureau of prisons agenda to “clean”MDC Brooklyn. His actions disregards the hard working men and women of the institution who keep inmates and the public safe. Felipe and Milton both have told staff that if they don't like their behavior (the Wardens) the only option the staff has is to either resign and/or file a grievance/ EEO complaint against them, which won't matter because by the time the case comes to light they will be retired. Therefore, staff have no other choice but to be subjected to this style of managerial behavior. Felipe and Milton are also purposely disregarding their duty to bargain with Local 2005 as required by Federal Law. Their actions have caused undue hardship for all bargaining members, and inmates, as they have proven time and time again that they are poor communicators And are incapable of effectively running an institution.
Their subpar leadership abilities has the entire prison staff suffering, which will eventually lead to inmate suffering as a result! These two men have created bad morale throughout the staff and have hampered employee satisfaction and engagement. According to one of their Associate Wardens, Dyan Stout, moral in the institution is supposed to be everyones priority and responsibility, his rhetoric totally disregards the roll managements lack of leadership skills play. They're lack of skills in this case has the potential to become deadly and effect many. With this petition, I am trying to prevent another disaster from happening at MDC Brooklyn so that all staff can work in a safe environment and make it home to their loved ones at the end of each shift.
All of their actions are not consistent with that of a warden, therefore they need to be removed. Local 2005 has expressed such to the Regional Director and the Director of the Federal Bureau of Prisons on multiple occasions to no avail. This is our last resort in hopes of creating the traction necessary to bring about positive change and or their removal.
In accordance with our Collective Bargaining Agreement, staff are the most valuable resource to the Federal Bureau of Prisons and deserve to be treated fairly. Their continued behavior has proven that they are incapable of following these basic principals. They are a disgrace to the agency and Law Enforcement alike, and need to be removed immediately! Lastly, they refuse to bargain with Local 2005 because our leadership is comprised mostly of females.
Help us take back MDC Brooklyn and make it a safe non-hostile place to work for Local 2005 Members. Please sign and share your thoughts!
The Regional Director Shawn Grant and the Director of the Federal Bureau of Prisons Michael Carvajal sent these two disgraces to MDC Brooklyn to do this, they also have the power to remove them. This is LOCAL 2005's demand that this be done immediately.
