The constitution protects our rights for a reason. Incarceration can have a drastic effect on a person. Oftentimes, a prisoner's connections to their family or religious community may be their only source of hope. However, under the leadership of Warden Milton Washington at FPC Montgomery, previously removed from FCI McKean, these rights are being infringed upon.

Warden Washington has been enforcing lockdowns across all units of the prison, an action that is in direct contradiction to our constitutional rights. The 14th Amendment offers protection to incarcerated individuals from discrimination and unequal treatment based solely on their race, sex, or creed.

Our prisons need human leaders who prioritize safety and rehabilitation over punitive measures that do not contribute to the betterment of inmates' lives or society as a whole. Wardens should be dedicated professionals who understand that every individual within their care deserves respect and fair treatment.

It's time we stand against injustices in our prison system by demanding change at its highest levels. We call for the removal of Warden Milton Washington from his position at FPC Montgomery and within the Bureau of Prisons entirely.
