After experiencing disrespect and unprofessionalism from Coach Hayes on a multitude of occasions, we the students of Watervliet Jr Sr High School, have decided that our school needs to make a change.

We believe Watervliet, not only as a school district, but as a community, should enforce our fundamental values regarding behavior towards one another. While this seems like common knowledge, we still believe it is important to reassess it, as it's an important skill to have.

Respect.

Coach Hayes has demonstrated his disrespect and immaturity in many different ways in the two school years he has been a Cannoneer. He has disrespected his colleagues, threatened a student, disrespected a struggling program, and used obscene language towards students. Every staff member should serve as a role model to their students, and Coach Hayes has failed to do so.
