Remove Unfair and Biased Teaching Practices in Our School

The issue

I, along with my friends at school, have consistently been under the harsh and unreasonable scrutiny of our science teacher. Her teaching practices seem to lack objectivity. She often punishes us for petty errors, handing out disproportionately long and non-beneficial assignments. Instead of being an academic guide, she uses her power to target us based on our past academic history. This sort of biased behavior disrupts the academic environment and hampers the growth and self-esteem of students, along with making mental toubles worse for students piling up work they cannot complete because of the work-load from the teacher in charge.

Our teacher seems to operate under a self-centered principle, rather than the teaching objectives outlined in our school code of conduct. Her focus appears to be solely on her personal monetary gain, as she frequently voices her disregard for the rules – going as far as claiming she doesn't care about them as long as she's paid. Her blatant lack of interest in fostering a wholesome student-teacher rapport has turned her classroom into a space of distress rather than a safe environment for learning.

According to a study published in the Journal of Educational Science, teachers who foster positive environments, build strong relationships with their students, and emphasize equity and fairness can significantly improve their students' academic achievements and emotional wellbeing (Journal of Educational Science, 2017).

Our plea is for the school administration to take a careful look into our science teacher's unfair teaching practices and impose consequences as necessary. We all have the right to an education that is fair, impartial and encouraging. Let us ensure our classrooms are spaces of prosperity and growth, devoid of undue stress.
