The point of this petition is to literally remove the words "under god" in the pledge of allegiance in USA. We as a country are not a theocracy and the founders of this country made that very clear when creating key components in our legislation.

Theocracy - a system of government in which priests rule in the name of God or a god.

This doesn't apply to the United States of America. Nor has it ever been to begin with. To act as if keeping "under god" in a allegiance to your nation whilst also not being a country that holds values in religion or isn't a religion ran country is quite absured. No person in any religion regardless of perspective in the pledge of allegiance in the USA should be subjected or sing a anthem claimed by a nation that isn't under any particular god. No person(s) should be forced to be under any god on any grounds of perspectives.

The term "under god" holds way too much weight in the anthem because this can be theorized by any who sing it as any god they worship or proclaim is the "true" god.

By no means should anyone religious subject anyone else to their ideas or perspective of religious beliefs. 

This country needs to step away from all religious ideas especially this one. This paves the way for issues related to religion(s) on all sides of conflicts, ideas, and perspective of anyone person(s) idea of freedom.
