The Issue

I am writing this petition with a sense of urgency and deep concern. As a parent to a young daughter living in the UK, the safety and wellbeing of young girls and women on social media is incredibly personal to me. Shockingly, despite legal constraints, some registered sex offenders continue to exploit these platforms. This petition aims to enforce stricter regulations and help deliver on the promises of safety laws targeted for implementation by 2026.

While reporting on the disturbing revelations of a registered sex offender, Curtis Arnold, who continues to brazenly share content on YouTube despite having a Sexual Harm Prevention Order (SHPO), I was alarmed at the shortcomings in the enforcement of social media regulations. Arnold, like others, poses a significant threat, exacerbating the risks faced by vulnerable groups online, yet remains active across various platforms.

The urgency of this matter becomes even more apparent in light of the recent disturbing headlines surrounding the death of Ian Huntley, who infamously ended the lives of two young schoolgirls. Both incidents serve as stark reminders of the predators lurking online and the indispensable need for rigorous enforcement of online safety measures.

This petition calls for a blanket ban on all UK registered sex offenders from platforms like YouTube, TikTok, Facebook, and X. It aims to strongly back the provisions of the upcoming Online Safety Bill Act 2025, coupled with Keir Starmer's 2026 pledge to safeguard women and children. These steps are long overdue to create a safer digital environment for everyone.

I implore you to support this immensely important cause, not just for the safety of my daughter but for all children and women across the UK. By signing this petition, you stand with us in urging the government and social media giants to take decisive action, hold offenders accountable, and prevent further online victimization.

Sign this petition today to demand accountability and ensure the safety of the next generation online.
