On July 21, 2025 Tony Allen was pulled over for driving under the influence. Sources report that Allen's blood alcohol level was 0.128%, significantly exceeding Delaware's legal limit of 0.08%. Additionally, sources indicate he failed to stay within a single lane.

Tony Allen is also under investigation by the Middle States Commission on Higher Education (MSCHE) and the United States Department of Education following my complaint regarding the university's mishandling of federal research grant funds.   I assert that Delaware State University has employed strategies to remove me from the Biological Science program and jeopardize my safety, potentially to obscure issues related to their professional conduct and accountability.   Tony Allen should be removed from his position held at Delaware State University. As chief executive officer of STUDENTS in higher education and public face of Delaware State University. Mr. Allen should NOT remain in office after such a serious lapse in judgment, it risks signaling that accountability does not apply at the highest levels. For the good of the institution, it is necessary for the president to step down voluntarily or through formal action to preserve the university’s integrity, rebuild confidence, and allow for a new chapter of leadership to begin.
