PETITION REQUESTING THE RESIGNATION OF THREE PLEASANTON CITY COUNCIL MEMBERS

TO THE GOVERNING BODY OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON, KANSAS:

We, the undersigned residents, citizens, and/or registered electors of the City of Pleasanton and surrounding community, respectfully petition the following members of the Pleasanton City Council:

Rochelle Schreckhise
Sandy Haynes
Kenny Stark

to resign from their respective offices as members of the Pleasanton City Council.

BASIS FOR THIS PETITION

We are requesting these resignations because of serious concerns regarding the financial management, fiscal responsibility, decision-making, and stewardship of the City of Pleasanton.

The undersigned believe that actions and decisions of the above-named council members have contributed to, or have created a substantial risk of contributing to, serious financial instability for the City. We are concerned that continued decisions without sufficient consideration of the City’s financial condition, available resources, obligations, and long-term sustainability could place an unreasonable financial burden on the City and its residents.

This petition is intended to express the community’s demand for accountability and responsible stewardship of public funds. We believe that elected officials entrusted with the City’s finances and governmental affairs must place the long-term interests of Pleasanton and its residents above personal, political, or other interests.

We therefore respectfully request that Rochelle Schreckhise, Sandy Haynes, and Kenny Stark resign from the Pleasanton City Council so that the City may move forward with leadership that the undersigned believe will exercise responsible fiscal management, transparency, accountability, and sound judgment in the best interests of the community.
