Remove the dangerous tree at Harris Creek & Fox Hill

Remove the dangerous tree at Harris Creek & Fox Hill
The Issue
On my way to a routine event in late July 2023, I took a right turn on red from Harris Creek Road to Fox Hill Road. Before anyone had a chance to take evasive action, another driver crashed into me. That driver's car as well as mine were totaled and a third driver coming down the opposite side of Fox Hill lost her side mirror. Thankfully, no one involved in my accident was injured, but it could have been much worse. At the scene, the officer told me that accidents frequently occur at that intersection.
The view to the left when taking the turn is obstructed by a large tree growing over the curb. I know that it was a factor in my crash and I believe it poses a significant safety risk to others. Because the road is curved and drivers speed down Fox Hill on a regular basis, it obscures line of sight to and from the intersection. This poses a risk to vehicles as well as any pedestrians crossing Harris Creek.
I am asking that the Hampton City Council remove this tree as soon as possible to protect the thousands of drivers, passengers, and pedestrians that pass through that intersection, everyday. Additional signatories to this petition are Hampton residents and concerned family members and friends thereof who agree that this tree must come down for everyone's safety.
