Michael Hayden has been with the district since 2012 and he was appointed as superintendent and approved in 2014.  During his tenure the district has declining test scores, trouble retaining staff, and multiple incidents that have resulted in a tarnished image of the district.  While other neighboring districts are thriving our is stumbling and failing.  This starts at the top.  Leadership is not at the helm.  It's all about image and nothing more it seems and our kids are suffering.  Teachers are told when to teach and what to teach when with no variables allowed the actual teacher's judgement.  Test scores across the board are on a downward spiral.  Bullying is at an all time high with a ridiculous system in place to deal with it.  Teachers aren't allowed to speak out and address matters head on.  Behaviors are allowed and disrespect is normal.  The last straw occured while he was in front of the student body in forum on Friday, November 3, 2023.  He addressed the children, who had nothing to do with recent events and stated that he "is disgusted and embarrassed to wear the purple and gold" is just wrong!  Those kids had nothing to do with anything that has occurred and to go on a tiraid about his image and feelings was wrong.  This community and these children need healing not more outsiders dividing us more.  Kids are receiving threats just because they are attending Clyde-Savannah.  Michael Hayden needs to resign or the school board needs to stand up on behalf of the community and removed him whether there is a contract or not.  He has conducted himself in manner that they reputation of the District is now so negative that it makes him unfit to perform his duties in the best interest of the District.
