Remove the schools' bans from stress relieving and helpful apps and websites.

The Issue

I believe that many of the apps and websites that have been banned from our schools should be brought back for the sake of people who used them as stress relievers and a way to help them focus. Many apps like Antistress and the websites HoodaMath and CoolMathGames help me focus in many of my classes. I used them while I am listening to a teacher speak to the class and they help me focus better. They help me because I have ADHD and anxiety, and even though I am taking medication for my ADHD to help me focus, it is still very helpful for me to be able to use an app or website while listening to my teacher. I also know that many of my friends use similar or the same websites as me because they also helped them to focus and get work done. I recently have had to resort to using some of the fidgets I have been given permission to use, but they do not help me focus as much as the apps and websites do. They also have been very helpful recently when I have had much higher stress levels due to missing school for field trips and having to make up excessive schoolwork. I understand that many of the websites have been blocked because they distracted some students from learning, but from my experience, more students are using the websites while working and are still able to get their work done. If we bring back some of the widely used stress relieving apps and/or websites, it will help more kids focus than it will distract. If the apps and websites are not brought back, it will be much harder for many of my peers to focus and be less stressed and/or anxious. I certainly have been much less on task recently because I have had to try to use other websites or stress fidgets and they often aren’t as effective to help me tune out other distractions. If the websites and apps are brought back it will be widely beneficial to any students with problems focusing on work and will help relieve the stress that most students have. The sooner we are able to get stress relievers and ways to keep our focus on our work, the better.
