Remove the Restaurant Parklet at 120 Lakeside Avenue, Seattle

The Issue

As Leschi neighborhood area residents, we wish for the restaurant parklet at 120 Lakeside Avenue (Pablo y Pablo) taken down. Since parking here is allowed on one side of the street only, this structure takes away much need parking spaces in our small but busy commercial core. It obstructs views from both sides of Lakeside Avenue creating a closed-off non-walk-freindly vibe. The surrounding trees leave the roof filthy making a visual blemish for condo owners and office workers above. The structure extends into the street the full width of a car and its height exceeds that of a bus. Due to its grand size, cars parked on the ends of the structure ready to reenter traffic are blinded to the street. A dog or jaywalker, as examples, would be visible to a driver only after pulling fully away from the curb. Moreover, this restaurant already has sidewalk tables without needing this structure. Please sign this petition to help us restore our neighborhood's parking, safety and aesthetic appeal by removing this unnecessary structure.
