Our neighborhood swim team is a cherished part of our community in Winchester Country, Houston, TX. It brings us together, fosters a sense of camaraderie and promotes healthy competition among our children. However, the current President of the Board of Directors has decided to do away with this beloved institution.

Despite a split vote among board members (2/2), Nicole has declared that the contract for our swim team will not be renewed (this is her message on NextDoor:  Dear Winchester County Residents: The board has an upcoming meeting on February 8th. This is not a community meeting but a meeting for the board to conduct business. We will NOT be voting on the swim team. That vote was taken in November and the board decided not to renew their contract for this year. Residents are welcome to attend but this subject is NOT on our agenda. Thank you).  This unilateral decision disregards democratic principles and undermines the voice and will of other board members and our community at large.

The role of a president is to facilitate discussion, encourage consensus and respect differing opinions - not to impose personal views on others. This action raises questions about her suitability for her position as President.

We believe that when there's an equal vote on such important matters like this one, another vote should be held or even better - let it be decided by a community vote where every voice can be heard.

This petition calls for the removal of the President due to her disregard for democratic processes within our board. We urge all residents who value fairness and democracy in their local governance to sign this petition so we can restore balance in decision-making processes within our community.
