Amity University Kolkata is home to thousands of students, coming from various corners of the country. 
Amity University Kolkata is situated in a remote place in Newtown, right beside the Newtown Coffee House at Street Number 394. Due to this reason, the students of the university convene through their own personal vehicles and due to the adamence of the authorities, the students have no right to a safe parking place, unlike the authorities and faculties themselves. Hence, hundreds of vehicles are parked outside the campus, for the sake of the student’s convenience.
Until 2023, the parking had no offenses whatsoever. The beginning of 2024 started with the tyranny of the government providing us the choice either to pay a price and park the vehicles or they will clamp down on our vehicles. 
We as students of the University believe that it is injustice that is being done to us, as most of us already pay thousands for education, hundreds for travelling and it has set us on edge to again pay for the parking for absolutely no reason at all.

If safety is the reason of the authority, it has completely failed as no student is safe this way. It is all a joke, done beautifully to earn a few stacks on the table. The authorities don’t work to fix it but to make it even worse. Let’s stand up against this ridiculous policy and let’s make a change.
