Our almer mater, Adaklu Senior High School, is going through serious problems that are affecting the staff and the progress of the school. The current Headmaster, Mr. Seth Amewor, and his assistants have created an unhealthy working environment where many staff members feel unhappy and disrespected.

Both teaching and non-teaching staff have complained about unfair treatment and victimization, especially towards those who speak up or give constructive suggestions. This has caused anger, fear and tension among staff in the school.

The situation in the school is like the story Animal Farm, where some staff who choose to side with the Headmaster are favoured and treated better than others. Because of this, many hardworking staff feel disrespected and unappreciated. Some have already left the school, while others are trying to seek transfer. This is seriously affecting teaching and learning in the school.

The anger, bitterness, fear, division and tension among staff in the school has destroyed teamwork and cooperation. As a result, important student groups such as the SRC, Debate Club, Drama Troupe, Choir, and NSMQ Club are no longer active or have completely collapsed.

Even we as former students are suffering from this poor administration. Past students who go to the school to collect certificates or testimonials are made to go through long, frustrating and embarrassing delays. Some even sleep on campus for days to complete simple processes. These experiences have discouraged many of us old students, some of whom have vowed never to return to the school or help the school in anyway.

Because of all these problems and many more, we are all called upon to sign this petition to remove the current Headmaster and his assistants. This will help bring back staff happiness, improve academic work, and protect the good name of Adaklu Senior High School.
