I am writing this petition out of a deep personal frustration with the current CEO of the Watcher YouTube channel, Steven Lim. Steven Lim has publicly stated he is the CEO and makes all financial and business decisions for the company himself. His actions and behavior have been nothing short of appalling, leading me to question his suitability for his position. Accusations, which have now been proven true by his own mouth, of racism and homophobia are serious matters that should not be taken lightly in any setting, let alone in a platform that reaches millions worldwide.

Furthermore, there is an increasing concern about the monetization of content on the channel. The free access to new content has been one of the defining features that made Watcher stand out among other channels. Those who have paid for new episodes in advance via Patreon should be refunded all of their money. We feel that offering a discount for your streaming platform when these individuals had already paid for this exclusive content is predatory and a scam. He has essentially stolen tens of thousands of dollars from hard working fans for a product they paid for, but since that product is now on a different site, they’re “out of luck”. YouTube allowed for a diverse audience to engage with Watcher’s content without any financial or social barriers. 

However, under Steven Lim's leadership, it seems this has changed which has alienated viewers who cannot afford paid subscriptions or premium content.

We need leaders who respect all individuals regardless of their race or sexual orientation and value accessibility over profit-making. We urge Change.org users to sign this petition demanding Steven Lim's removal from his position as CEO and maintaining free access to new content on the Watcher YouTube channel.
