Remove Stephanie Nehus as Superintendent
The Issue
In today’s society, the safety and well-being of our children must be the top priority. Unfortunately, in the Hot Springs School District, this priority seems to have been compromised. Stephanie Nehus, the superintendent of our district, has failed to protect our children from individuals who have been proven to be a danger to them. I cannot stand by and watch as a convicted predator, Zach Nehus, husband of Stephanie Nehus, is allowed to attend school events despite his history with child pornography. This is personal to me because, as a member of this community, children's safety must be paramount.
Zach Nehus has been arrested again for possessing child pornography, yet his connection to the school district hasn't been severed. Instead, he is allowed to attend school functions, effectively putting children at risk. Stephanie Nehus' lack of action and integrity in allowing this to continue demonstrates she does not have the capacity to lead our district safely.
There are documented incidents and photographic evidence that link Zach Nehus to these reprehensible acts, yet he was able to come into close proximity with our children. This not only places our children in immediate harm but also erodes the trust parents place in those who are supposed to protect and educate their children.
It is imperative that the school district and the school board take immediate action. Stephanie Nehus must be removed from her position, and policies must be implemented to ensure that no such lapses in judgment occur in the future.
Our children deserve a safe environment free from influence or presence of individuals who have been involved with such
heinous crimes. We must hold our leaders accountable and ensure that our educational institutions are not only places of learning but also havens of safety.
I urge you to sign this petition. By doing so, you are standing up for the safety of our children and demanding accountability from our school district.”
