Over the past few years, Siwon Choi of SUPER JUNIOR has become increasingly outward in expressing political and religious stances that have been put under immense scrutiny among ELF (fans), netizens and the general public, and K-pop stans both in South Korea and all over the world. As of now, his most recent controversy on September 11, 2025 involved his extending of sympathies to the far-right American commentator Charlie Kirk, much to intense backlash among the wider internet community. During this time, ELF and the other 8 members of Super Junior became the subject of this hate when it should have been directed to Siwon alone, merely due to association. 

This is not the only time such a controversy that has further buried Super Junior's reputation to the ground has happened because of Siwon. From this thread outlining Siwon's most well-known scandals and controversies (https://x.com/siwonout/status/1966382439397470309 cr @siwonout), Siwon has shown himself to be not only a far-right conservative aligning himself closely with MAGA and Republican figures such as Ronald Reagan and Donald Trump, but also a Zionist, a homophobe and a transphobe. He is very transparent about these hurtful beliefs despite significant chunks of Super Junior's fanbase comprising of Muslim, Arab, LGBTQ+, and American ELF all directly and indirectly affected by the policies and rhetoric of said beliefs and figures. 

Amid all this, Siwon remains unapologetic and shameless in expressing harmful and bigoted views and behaviour that actively hurts his fans. On 13th September, 2025 (source: https://x.com/siwonout/status/1966807682767327647 cr @siwonout), he addressed the backlash after glorifying a Zionist MAGA, simply saying "I couldn't care less." Is this the kind of man you want promoting with Super Junior, many members of which have shared opposite beliefs? Two members of Super Junior have expressed support for Palestine, one has shown explicit support for trans people, multiple members have showed support for LGBTQ+ EXCEPT for him. 

If Siwon stays in Super Junior, he will continue to bring negative PR for the group, and will continue to drag down the group's image. So many non-fans think most or all members are Zionist/homophobe/transphobe/MAGA because of HIM. As well as growing hatred and negative sentiment towards Super Junior, Siwon remaining in Super Junior threatens to further isolate and fracture the fanbase, many of whom are upset with him but cannot and do not want to support a full group with a Zionist, despite loving the other 8 members dearly. 

As part of a group of ELF who deeply treasure and love the other eight members, many of whom have expressed progressive views opposite to Siwon's, we are increasingly concerned of how the other members continue to be lumped in under the overall umbrella that Siwon has created for himself. This is not something that was decided overnight. This is the final straw for ELF who have been so tired of Siwon's controversies that have and will continue to be used as ammunition against the group and its collective and individual image that the other eight have worked hard to protect. 

For Super Junior's sake, we ELF demand  #SIWON_OUT.
